Chris and I have been friends ever since our first year at Guelph and we've met up in various places in the world over the years. In those 45+ years, he was a such good friend, I'll miss him. Mary McNiven

I always called him Fred ! and he would smile his little smirk and we could have a chuckle and visit . I went over to see him on Wednesday , not to buy but to remind him how much I am waiting for MY apples. Will miss him and his friendly style and I will still buy lots of apples and remember him. Marg Pilson, Wasaga Beach. Just a customer from the start.

I worked with Chris last Fall when he had his apple market in Wasaga Beach. Chris was a great boss and treated all his employees with kindness and respect. It was quickly evident to me that his customers also held him in very high regard as he was the recipient of huge smiles, handshakes, happy greetings, waves, and more than one freshly baked apple pie. He was truly a fine person and will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace Chris.

One of the first people I met when I moved to Collingwood, nearly 30 years ago. Chris loved to dance at the Gateway's on Friday nights! Always ready to lend a hand or to appreciate a fine meal. Very sad and unexpected news to receive. Rest in the finest orchard!
