Values I Imitate

The gift of life can have many twists and turns and its not until one matures and has a family of their own, do we appreciate our Grandparents. I have benefited from my Grandparents example in my own life. When my brother and I would visit, we would be expected to work. We helped in the garden, cut grass, peeled potatoes, wash dishes and even made canned pickles and perogies. I learned the value of hard work. My Grandpa and Grandma were very loyal to each other. My Grandpa loved to tease my Grandma and she would pretend to be annoyed and say, Willie would you stop?.My Grandpa would get a twinkle in his eye and I could see their deep love for one another. I remember watching them and thinking that I want to have that kind of relationship with someone someday. When my Grandma died, my Grandpa was broken and he could never be fixed. He was never the same. It broke my heart to see my strong and stoic Grandpa lose the love of his life. We had many Bible discussions about why we die, where are the dead and seeing our loved ones again. A beautiful experience we talked about was John chapter 11 when Jesus friend Lazarus died and Jesus explanation of what death is and what he would do about it. I cant wait to see my Grandma and Grandpa together again when Gods Kingdom comes and his will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Until then Grandpa.. Rest In Peace xoxo
