A courageous Woman

In the early sixties Alma imigrated to the Americas. She stayed a short time with the Olga & Edward Hermann family in Detroit before her destination of employment in Windsor, Canada..

We kept in touch with her and Ray and visited onccasionally. On one of our ski trips to Blue Mt. with our children Elke an Roland, Alma and Ray surprised us when they brought us lunch and hot tea with rum to the ski lodge. They always were gracious, funny and loving hosts. Even in stormy weather, late at night when we tried to find their house, Ray went out of his way to flag us in with a flashlight.

Alma did like flowers. When she came to visit us and her cousine, Olga Hermann in Romeo MI, she looked like Julie Andrews in the ' Sound of Music', flinging her arms high, twirrling around and throwing herself in our fields of summer flowers. exclaiming," I think I am in heaven"

We will remember her often and fondly and are thankful that the Lord let her live among us so many years

In loving memory

Erna & Waldemar Hermann     children- Elke and  Roland
