Peacefully on Sunday April 7, 2013 with his family by his side at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 87th year. Terry of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Dina McDonald for over 58 years. Loving father of Paul (Gail), Kathleen (Mitch Boucher), Peggy (Dave Hallett), John (Fatima) and Tom (Suzanne). Cherished grandfather of Daniel and Adam McDonald, Matthew, Mark and Michael (Marlene) Hignell, Davey and Jack Hallett, Daniel and Rachel McDonald and Rebecca and Jacqueline McDonald and great grandfather of Gage McDonald. Dear brother of Denise (Stewart Nelson), Donald (Gail), John (Clare)and the late Gary (late Patricia)McDonald. Terry will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Terry was a passionate and artistic man; a devoted and favorite art teacher at Georgetown High School. Renowned as a fine artist, primarily worked in water colours that were featured in Ontario art galleries. He was a Blue Jays fanatic, having watched or listened to almost ever game, and he enjoyed his time gardening. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home - Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Thursday April 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Vigil prayers Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church, 133 Dunkkeron Avenue, Wasaga Beach on Friday April 12, 2013 at 12 noon. Reception to follow at the Bayshore Seniors Centre, 2000 Tiny Beaches Road South. If desired, remembrances to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by Terry’s family. The family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Bryan Marshall, the nurses and staff of the General & Marine Hospital for the outstanding care given to Terry and to them.
