Dear Jeff & families: I'm thinking of you all in the loss of your dear Mother. Shirley was a wonderful lady. I have fond memories of her teaching me how to sew baby quilts when I lived and worked in Stayner. I'm praying that God will comfort your heart, uplift your spirit and carry you through this time of sadness to a place of peace. She has been reunited with Mayor Bruce.
Sincerely, Shari (prev. Halliday) Tempesta.

Shirley was our Second Mother .. we were neighbours .. we were 4 girls and the Partons had 4 boys and oh the memories we have .. we had an amazing childhood and Shirley was a huge part of our lives! .. beautiful woman .. always thought she looked like a TV Star, so many happy memories .. I truly believe Shirley had a fantastic life and she LIVED. .. and the nice thing, she lived well into a ripe old age and truly did not suffer, I believe she enjoyed life right to the end. Beautiful Human Being "inside and out" ..
Thank you Shirley for the memories. You will be missed, more then you know..you were a BIG PART OF STAYNER!

Shirley was a great friend, quilting buddy, knitting guru and a wonderful ambassador for our town....we called her Mrs.. Stayner . Shirley was part of our Georgian Triangle Quilters for about 20 years. Our mandate was to make a one of a kind traditional quilt with a new twist and give it to a charity, near and dear to us, so they could raffle it and benefit from our work. We raised close to $30,000.00. Shirley’s choice of charity was Cystic Fibrosis. We worked hard, played hard and laughed lots...good medicine all around. Some of her handiwork helps to decorate Gilda’s House for cancer patients in Barrie and in the Collingwood Hospice. We miss her dearly. Our sympathy to the family. With love and sympathy, Bev Scholte and the Georgian Triangle Quilters

My sincere sympathy to the Parton Family. Shirley was a wonderful lady and a great seamstress. Shirley and Bruce were caring neighbours to my grandparents who used to live on William Street.
Sincerely, Karen (Butler) Kerr
