In his 69th year, our beloved Leonard Noordegraaf passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, with his family by his side on Friday April 9, 2021 at Sunset Manor, Collingwood. Leonard faced a short and unyielding progression of Alzheimer’s disease with courage, grace, and humor. Leonard dedicated his life to Christ, his family, and his community. A lover of conversation, animals, practical jokes, and warm hats. He could always be seen with a twinkle in his eye.
He was Geraldine Noordegraaf's (Vandevis) knight in shining armor for 48 years. He will never be replaced as the loving father and precious Opa of Carolyn (Francis and Elliott), Ben and Sherri (Sam and Lucy), Jenny and Dwight (Susie and Stuart), Daniel and Renita (Ruby), and Laura and Todd (Jeff).
Leonard was the much adored son in law of Gerrie Vandevis. He will be lovingly remembered by his many siblings – Maria (Cory), Wilhelmina (George), Lena (Wayne), Klaas ( Margie), Mary (Casey), Elizabeth (Rob), Harry (Marlene), Lucy (Mike), Rob (Louise), Ted (Janet), Annette, Marietta (Al) and his numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard is predeceased by his parents, Leendert and Margje Noordegraaf, father in law Marinus Vandevis, baby son Leonard, and brother in law Bill Vandevis.
Friends are invited to participate in a drive through visitation at 1107 Klondike Park Road, Stayner on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 1 until at least 3 p.m. Please enter the property from the northern driveway and exit by the main house and the southern driveway. The family will gather Thursday April 15, 2021 at the Collingwood Christian Reform Church for the funeral service at 11 o’clock. The ceremony will be available on the church’s website. See below.
