Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday April 2, 2021 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie at the age of 78. Ray, beloved husband of Norma for over 58 years. Loving father of the late Randy Dempster (1988), Bev (Gerry) Goorts, Karen Wark and Jamie (Vicki) Dempster. Cherished “Grandpa Charlie” of Melissa (Brian), Kathrine, Rebecca, Rachel, Kristen (Scott), Nicole (Zach), Lauren, Alexa, Brenden and Max and great grandfather of Bennett, Leni, William, Benjamin and Jackson. Dear brother of the late Keith (late Lorraine), Muriel Wolf, Sandra (Ken) Miller, Donald Dempster and Verna Dempster. Ray will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, his canine companion Max and his many friends and neighbours. Ray was a devoted family man. He loved the outdoors. He spent time camping and fishing with family and friends. Norma and Ray wintered for many years in Texas and made lifelong friends. His neighbours enjoyed watching Ray and Max collect egg cartons for his sister Muriel on recycling day, as they travelled the neighbourhood for their morning walk. Ray will be deeply missed. His family will gather for a private graveside ceremony at Angus Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation for the Palliative Care Unit and the Cancer Centre.
