Died peacefully on Thursday September 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 83. John, beloved husband of Donna (nee Poloski).
Loving father of Tammy (David McGill), Mark (Nari) and Derek (Renee). Cherished ‘Papa’ of grandchildren Laura (David Sherman), Jason (Emily) McGill, Jennifer (Rio Unger), Matthew (Nathalie) McGill, Alanah (Spencer Eisses), John (Alyssa) Palmer , Bess Palmer and Elizabeth, Emma, William and Hannah Palmer and great grandfather of Haleigh, Aubrey, Malcolm, Erick, Caleb, Jocelyn, Charlie, Jordan, Joshua, Lacey, Claire and Maeve with two on the way. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his siblings Mildred (the late Bill Bailey), Donald (Dorothy), Albert (Donelda) and Doreen (the late Donald McQueen).
John was born in Collingwood on January 21, 1938. He spent 43 years working at Collingwood PUC; but his first love was truly farming. He was also a sportsman who enjoyed fishing, as well as both baseball and hockey. He even pitched in the church baseball league into his 81st year.
John was a man of strong faith and was a lifelong member of the Journey Community Church

Friends will be received at the Sixth Line Church, 1152 Concession Road 6, Stayner (North of County Road 91) outdoors on Sunday September 12, 2021 from 2 to 5 pm.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. Interment Sixth Line Cemetery.
