Remembering Jeri Jarmila Demetriou
Jeri left us too quickly on July 5, 2020 after fighting her short battle with Cancer.
Born in Prague, she came to Canada at the young age of 15. Jeri spent the majority of her career with Air Canada where she met and then married George Demetriou. They were married for 34 years, having lived in Oakville until they both decided to retire in the beautiful community of Wasaga Beach surrounded by nature, trees, beaches and parks.
Jeri was known for her love of all animals but had a special love for her beautiful birds. Tahiti, Benson, Kiki and Rosie were her children. They brought her so much joy and their antics and unique personalities were impossible to resist.
In Wasaga Beach she was known for her support of local issues, and always fought for what was best for local residents. She spent many a sunset volunteering as a Piping Plover Guardian spending countless hours watching over and monitoring this endangered species.
She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. May her memory be eternal.
