Obituary for H. E. Ted Arnott

Arnott, Harry Edward (Ted)
Ted died peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2022 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 76th year with his wife Rhonda and daughter Lennette by his side. Ted leaves his wife Rhonda, daughter Lennette (Frank Palermo) along with grandsons Marco and Matteo, his sister Barbara (Terry Hockley) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his younger sister Lynette (1969), father Harry (1989), mother Ruth(2011) and brother Larry (2019). Ted was a long time trucker, starting his own business in the early 1970’s with a dump truck. Gradually moving up to long haul tractor trailer and delivering his loads across Canada and the U.S.A.. in 2020 he decided to semi-retire and hired a driver while he managed the business from home. Ted loved his trucks and the travel across this country and would still be driving if he could. Like his father and brother, he loved old cars and trucks. When he wasn’t driving truck he could be found in the shop under the hood of a vehicle he was currently working on. But this didn’t happen very often until the later years. Ted always said, “Time is Money” and if he wasn’t working he wasn’t making any money. Friends are invited to join Ted’s family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Friday May 20, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. for memorial visitation. There will not be a service at this time. If desired, a donation to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by Ted’s family.
