Died peacefully following a brief illness on Friday April 8, 2022 at his home at the age of 77. Greg of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Truusje. Loving father of Rob, Scott (deceased) and Kristen Mitchell. Cherished grandfather of Keven (deceased), Tyler, Shawnee, Jarrett, Ryan and Kylee and great grandfather of Kianna, Andre, Sydney and Henry. Greg is predeceased by his brothers Chester and Bruce. Greg was a patient, easy going man. He was an avid reader, often consuming an entire novel in a single day. He enjoyed golfing, water sports and the cottage on Lake Rosseau in his younger days. He and Truusje led an interesting life having resided in Freeport, Bahamas as well as operating a hotel on Anna Maria Island, Florida for many years. He will be missed by his family, his Rotarian colleagues, neighbours and his many friends spread to all corners of the globe. Friends are invited to join his family for a memorial gathering at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m.. Light refreshments will be served during the come and go gathering. If desired, a donation to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society would be appreciated by his family.
