Kerr, Gordon Ernest, Ph.D
Died peacefully on Monday March 21, 2022 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 74. Gordon of Collingwood, beloved husband of Muriel (nee Stone). Loving father of Beth (Sarah Bruer), Andrew and Ian (Tara Anderson). Cherished grandfather of Marshall, Kieran, Ainsley and Teagan. Dear brother of Douglas (Diane), Elizabeth (David Simms) and the late Ronald Kerr. Gord will also be missed by his extended family and many friends. He was a patient and helpful man with a ready twinkle in his eye. An alumni of Queen’s University (Hon. B. Sc.) and University of Toronto (M. Sc, Ph.D.), he continued to have a passion for science throughout his life. Gord and Muriel bred Golden Retrievers and he was a long time member of the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Toronto, Golden Retriever Club of America and the Canadian Kennel Club. He was a long-time leader with the Boy Scouts and a devoted member of the United Church of Canada as a lay preacher, choir member and Presbytery representative. He will be deeply missed by many. Friends are invited to join his family at Centennial United Church, 234 William Street, Stayner on Thursday March 24, 2022 for visitation at 1 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held at 2 o’clock. The ceremony will be available to view via Live Streaming. The link is available in the Book of Memories. Gordon’s family request that all attendees please wear a mask or face covering while within the church.
