Obituary for Eva Kyrou
Eva passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on Saturday January 29, 2022 at the age of 84. She survived her younger daughter Olga (1999) and leaves behind her loving daughter Xan, son-in-law Dave, her cherished grandchildren, Ilyan and Georgia and her great grandson, Niko. She leaves behind cousins, nieces and nephews in Greece who delighted in her visits.
Eva came to Canada in 1960 and worked as a fur finisher for 40 years, though her dream was to become a teacher. Her hands worked masterfully at everything she did for work and family, including passing down her Greek customs, language, and recipes. Her daily laughter brought tremendous joy! She was a skilled seamstress, licensed manicurist and ESL graduate. In her final years with dementia, she lived with her daughter and revealed an incredible skill for visual composition and spent hours composing each arrangement.
Her generous heart kept her friends close and her family closer. She is greatly missed.
