It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Brother Craig Leroy Parton from Nanaimo BC on July 14 2022 in his 68th year. He is the son of the Late Bruce and Shirley(Marsden)Parton. Craig leaves behind 2 children Dr. Ellie Parton (Louis) and Garette Parton. Craig will be sadly missed by his brothers Jeff, Ken (Kathy), & Doug(Shannon)plus his 3 grandchildren Telesa, Etienne, and Leo, many nieces and nephews as well as his K-9 buddy Sheila. Craig worked for CN Rail after graduating High School here in Stayner then pulled up his roots to drive taxi in Calgary AB. He was always a fisherman and heard of an opportunity in Campbell River BC so he picked up and moved to BC. He purchased a quota for Rock Cod, bought a boat and fished for many years eventually buying his own Transport Truck to deliver those fish to be sold to restaurateurs who required live fish for purchase. Craig was also interested in flying and bought his own Cessna 150 which he flew regularly with his brother Jeff. A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 at Stayner Union Cemetery at 11 o'clock. Celebration of life event to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 457, Stayner. In memory of Craig donations to the Collingwood General Marine Hospital Foundation or Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated.
