Died peacefully on Friday December 9, 2022 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood with his loving family at his side, at the age of 79. Bill of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Gail (nee Dunklee) for over 56 years. Loving father of Shawn (Barbara), Shannon (David Burns) and Michael (Sabina). Cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn (Ajaz), Ashley (Kory), David and Ivan and a great-grandfather of Zayne and Jaxton. Bill was a kind, genuine man who made friends easily wherever he went, usually with a Tim Hortons Iced Capp in hand. He was a loyal friend whose smile would light up any room he entered. He enjoyed NASCAR and football, American college football, the draft combine and the NFL. A Bell Canada Pioneer employee, he enjoyed a long career before retiring to Wasaga Beach. He was the buyer for the Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank for many years and a member of the Wasaga Beach United Church. Bill was recognized for his commitment to the Wasaga Beach Community as a recipient of the Order of Wasaga Beach in 2020 and the Senior of the Year Award in 2021. He will be deeply missed by his family and his community. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga beach on Sunday December 18, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m and again on Monday December 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. for the Funeral Service at the Wasaga Beach United Church, 380 Zoo Park Road, Wasaga Beach at 11 o’clock. Interment Wasaga Beach cemetery. Reception to follow at the Lockhart Hall at the church. If desired, a donation to the Wasaga Beach Food Bank, the Wasaga Beach United Church or Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House would be appreciated by Bill’s family.
