Died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday May 29, 2022 at Villa Care Centre, Midland at the age of 86. Al, beloved husband of Florence (nee Mosher) for over 65 years. Loving father to Terry (Hank Duits), Wayne Holotuk (Sherry) and Wendy (Brian Cumming). Cherished Papa of Ashley, Sara (Jake), Courtney (Samuel), Alex (Patrick) and Hilary (Chris) and great Papa to Nathaniel, Elliott, Aydan and Michael. Dear brother of his twin sister Adele (the late George Switzer) and Steve (Vi) Holotuk. He is predeceased by his parents Rosina (nee Kuehni) and Peter Holotuk, and siblings Lewis, Gordon (Emily), Edna (Fred Genoe), Ann (Alvin Pinkerton), Lillian Barton-Briggs, Art (Jean), Dan (Grace), and Rose Charbonneau and brothers-in-law Ray, Leonard and Merle Mosher. Dear brother-in-law of Mary, Gilles, Cindy (Orville), Thelma (the late Clinton), Faye and Roy. Al was a kind man with a wonderful mischievous sense of humour who loved to tease. He was a hard worker, being a long-haul trucker and mechanic for many years. He enjoyed working in his woodshop, reading and completing puzzles. He will be missed. Friends are invited to join his family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, on Saturday June 4, 2022 from 11 to 1 p.m. for memorial visitation. There will not be a service at this time. If desired, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or St. Paul’s United Church, Golden Valley would be appreciated by his family.
